Pakistan Yatra Visa 2026: The Definitive Guide for Canadian Passport Holders

Step-by-step breakdown of the Pakistan pilgrim e-visa process for Canadians — documents, timelines, costs, and what your tour operator handles for you.

Pakistan Yatra Visa 2026: The Definitive Guide for Canadian Passport Holders

The single biggest barrier preventing Canadian Sikh families from completing their yatra is not cost, not time, and not distance. It is paperwork anxiety. This guide eliminates that anxiety entirely.

The Short Version

Canadian passport holders apply for a Pakistan Pilgrim Tourism e-visa at visa.nadra.gov.pk. When you book with Baarik Yatra, we handle the PSGPC invitation letter, hotel confirmations, and itinerary documentation. You upload your passport copy and photograph. The visa arrives by email in 7–10 business days. Fee: under $20 CAD.

Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Book Your Yatra Package The visa application requires confirmed hotel bookings and a detailed itinerary — documents your tour operator provides. Do not apply for a visa before booking your package. The order matters.

Step 2: Receive Your PSGPC Letter The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) is the official body managing Sikh holy sites in Pakistan. A letter from PSGPC confirming your pilgrimage purpose is required for the pilgrim visa category. Baarik Yatra has a direct working relationship with PSGPC and obtains this letter on your behalf — you do not need to contact them directly.

Step 3: Gather Your Documents - Valid Canadian passport (minimum 6 months validity beyond travel dates) - Recent passport-size photograph (white background) - PSGPC invitation letter (provided by Baarik Yatra) - Confirmed hotel bookings (provided by Baarik Yatra) - Detailed itinerary (provided by Baarik Yatra) - Proof of Canadian residency (driver's license or utility bill)

Step 4: Apply Online Visit visa.nadra.gov.pk. Create an account. Select "Pilgrim / Religious Tourism" as your visa category. Upload all documents. Submit.

Step 5: Receive Visa Grant Notice Within 7–10 business days, you receive your e-visa by email. Print a copy. Carry it with your passport throughout the trip.

Families and Children Children require their own visa. For children under 16, a notarized parental consent form is required along with birth certificate and parent's passport copy. Baarik Yatra will walk you through the children's documentation process directly — contact our team when booking.

Canadians of Pakistani Origin If you hold a valid NICOP or Pakistani passport in addition to your Canadian passport, the process is even simpler. Contact us and we'll advise the most efficient path for your specific documents.

Current Travel Context Canadian government travel advisories for Pakistan are updated regularly at travel.gc.ca. We monitor these actively and communicate changes to all booked clients immediately. Our private group yatras use secure, pre-vetted transport and accommodation throughout, with licensed security escorts arranged through third-party providers, subject to availability and local authorization, for private charters.
